Startups should avoid shiny new technology. You can’t iterate on your startup if all your time is spent fixing half-baked open source software. Use battle tested apps until they will no longer offer what you need; then push them further. Only when the tech stack falls-over completely do you move to the new thing — which is hopefully much further along by then.
