Me too. Upping my 10+ year account to a 29.99 APR did it. I asked that my account close at the end of my existing term. I feel deeply for folks that can’t pay off. It’s been going on all over the country and it’s reprehensible. I will be picking my next card based upon who was the least immoral during the recession. (Probably a case of going with the least worst, but Citi, it’s over.)
It is really sad. Let me know if you find a card that fits the “least immoral during the recession” description. With businesses behaving this poorly, there should be a huge opportunity in the marketplace for someone to do things right.
